Yearly vaccinations (and why treats matter)
Every October we get a friendly reminder that it is booster season again. This year Joy got two shots:
- Leptospirosis — a bacterial infection dogs can pick up from puddles and wet grass. With all the lakes around Berlin, this one is a must for us.
- Parainfluenza — one of the main causes of kennel cough. Joy meets a lot of dogs in the park, so we keep it up to date.
The waiting room was the hardest part: one cat, one very loud puppy and a corgi convinced that everyone came to see her. The shot itself took two seconds. Liver treats did the rest.
Tip: ask the vet to put everything into the vaccination passport right away. You will need it for travel, dog daycare and sometimes for insurance.
