Corgis vs. stairs: a small engineering story
Corgis have long backs and short legs, which makes stairs and jumping off sofas harder on their spine than it looks. Our vet suggested a few simple changes:
- Carry her down the stairs when possible, especially when she is tired.
- A small ramp next to the sofa. Took Joy two days and a lot of cheese to accept it.
- Non-slip rugs on the wooden floor in the hallway.
- Keep her weight in check — every extra kilo matters for a corgi back.
Nothing fancy, but she clearly moves more confidently now.
